Law Marketing Topics for March 29, 2022

Law Day is an opportunity to tell the community about your law practice.

May 1 is Law Day. A little over one month away. Law Day is a good opportunity for law firms to leverage the bar association marketing that inevitably accompanies this annual commemoration of the law's significance in our daily lives.

This year's Law Day theme is "Toward a More Perfect Union: The Constitution in Times of Change.” An important principle, no doubt, but not an ideal theme for most law firm marketing departments. The good news is that there's no reason to tie the firm's marketing efforts to whatever theme the American Bar Association has chosen for a particular year. After all, the overarching purpose of Law Day is "to celebrate the role of law in our society and to cultivate a deeper understanding of the legal profession," according to the ABA. That definition is broad enough to encompass any law firm.

Law Day is a perfect opportunity for lawyers to remind their local community of the services that lawyers provide their clients each day. And to remind them of the rights the law provides each member of their community. These rights should be expressed in terms of concrete legal problems that clients and prospective clients are facing every day. Rights that they may not be fully taking advantage of. Rights that could be putting money in their pockets or improving the quality of their lives. Estate planning? Tax appeals? Wage and hour pitfalls for small businesses?

How do clients benefit from your law practice? Write about these things on Law Day.
